A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to head down to Philadelphia for Old City’s monthly First Friday Art Events. While the art found inside the galleries were alright, the artwork found outside of the galleries on the streets were much more interesting to me. Those artists really deserved to have their works on display inside the buildings they were standing in front of. One such artist is Larry West, who I had the pleasure of meeting on First Friday October 2nd. You may have heard us mention Larry West. Back in May, he did a show with Digital Ferret as part of their 4th Friday Art and Music events. I managed to purchase and take home one of his pieces (seen below) which truly captures this artist’s abilities in the fields of design and illustration. Aside from being an all-around fantastic artist, he’s also a highly skilled web and graphic designer. Click the image below and check out his website.
Further proof that the Visual Arts Scene in Philadelphia is alive and kicking.
